Gwangju city and 17 local agencies of national organizations joined hands to actively cooperate on current issues including 2019 Fina World Championships.

On July 4, Gwangju city had a roundtable with 17 heads of local agencies of national institutions including Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL), Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), Ministry of Environment (MOE), Bank of Korea, National Tax Service, among others.

The roundtable was initiated by Gwangju city mayor.

Gwangju city asked for cooperation after explaining the progress on current projects underway including Fina World Championships, establishment of Gwangju-style job auto factory, 4th industrial revolution city, expansion of culture and tourism, and others.

Issues raised by participants include: MOE asked for cooperation on converting contract workers to regular workers; procurement service Gwangju office requested support for startups; Gwanju Tax Service explained the need to newly establish Gwangsan tax office, separated from the existing West Gwangju tax office.

Gwangju city mayor said, "We need to solidify cooperative mechanism by holding roundtable between the city and local agencies of national institutions on a regular basis."
