(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju city held a Gwangju Tour Briefing Session in Moscow and St.Petersburg, opening up a new tourism market in Russia.

Gwangju city and Gwangju Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) held four tourism briefing sessions together with Moscow branch and Gwangju Jeonnam brance of Korea Tourism Organization in Moscow and St.Petersburg on August 20-23, attracting attention from those in local tourism industry.

The sessions were participated from about 200 people from local tourism industry, such as Art Tour and Prestige Club-which are among the Russia's largest tourism agencies.

Art Tour, Prestige Club, and JTC Russia are to plan and sell Gwangju group tour programs.

Gwangju city and Gwangju CVB signed MOU with Art Tour and Prestige Club for cooperation on attracting Russian tourists.

Gwangju city plans to invite Art Tour officials to Gwangju on September 5-7, promoting tourism resources and experience programs and releasing Gwangju tour programs targeting Russian customers.
