'Open Square-D', a shared platform to give assistance to would-be entrepreneurs or anyone who wish to start his or her own business opened last week. Ministry of the Interior & Safety and the city of Gwangju announced the grand opening of the center at the ground floor of I-Plex main building. Harnessing public data, Open Square-D explores prospective entrepreneurs with full potential to give them a jump-start.
This startup incubator, which has already been settled down in each five main city nationwide-Seoul, Busan, Gangwon, Daejeon and Daegu- now launched its service in the city of Gwangju, through which anyone who has innovative ideas can be given a systematic support from business information based upon publicly collected data, a commercial lease to counseling service and marketing.
A senior level official at the interior ministry said "The Open Square -D is believed to help bolster up the industrial ecosystem in Gwangju city, getting ready to transform itself into a giant tech-hub of artificial intelligence in Korea."
