According to Yonhap News,

The city of Gwangju and Committee on Green Growth (CGG) had an in-depth conversation on Jan. 15 over how to well handle community environmental and energy issues and what to cooperate with in the pursuit of green growth. Gwangju unveiled its five-year growth plan to turn the community greener, zero-carbon city and discussed the details. Guests invited had a time for a short site tour, visiting a plant recycling fire extinguisher agent and a manufacturing facility for ESS.

The head of the committee said “Gwangju city is a good model of green growth to be benchmarked as the authority has already implemented the enforcement act for energy recycling, while coming up with solutions to reduce carbon footprint. That’s part of many reasons that the city has become the very first spot to visit among others.”

City mayor said “The local government move proactively to get ready for future energy conversion combined with artificial intelligence technology. We’ve recently launched an official committee on energy policy, while running an institute researching community environment and climate change”, adding that “We’ll make a concerted effort with CGG to make our city greener and sustainable.”
