Saltlux, an AI-big data specialist in Korea, opened an AI research lab near I-Plex, Gwangju on Apr. 23. In the wake of signing an MOU with the city government last month, the AI solution provider launched its operation in celebration of the opening. They also unveiled the plan, making a separate entity incorporated in the city in the second half of this year.

Since its inauguration, Saltlux has gradually scaled up in its size and technological capacity, focusing primarily on machine learning, natural language processing and big data analytics over the past 20 years, showing an annual growth rate of 20 percent steadily. With the largest portfolio of AI patent applications in Korea, they, in particular, will further advance AI learning tool based upon a wide pool of library of knowledge database, a collection of visual, audio, text and all types of information they’ve long built up.

The AI research center they opened this month is highly anticipated to embrace a better ecosystem to produce AI experts and data processing technology.
