According to Yonhap News,

The city of Gwangju said on Aug 5 that a local animation studio, “Studio Button”, founded in 2013 with the support of Gwangju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency (GICIPA), has made great stride in animation production, giving good direction that leverages cultural content in Korea.

Studio Button earned KRW 5.8 billion in sales last year from KRW 50 million in its initial stage. That’s a 116 fold jump in six years.

They’ve produced popular TV series including Fire Robo, Jurassic Cops and Tobot V, which aired on Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) and Korea Educational Broadcasting System (EBS). The city said the progress Studio Button has made so far probably is attributed to the authority-led biz-support project, helping young content creators move into a local startup incubator where innovative ideas turn to fascinating content worth marketable.
