According to Newsis,

The city of Gwangju delivered an investment pitch by each industry online for the first time in Korea. As part of efforts to take proactive approach to the recent coronavirus led economic crisis and turn the conventional business paradigms into non-face-to face interactions, the city government has launched such IR (Investor Relations) services via social media platforms such as Facebook, Youtube and Zoom since last August. Starting from this month, the service comes into effect by each industrial category.

They hosted an online IR event on Sep 10 to pitch business ideas to investors, outlining missions and major state-led projects to boost AI technologies in the city. The IR presentation sessions are open on every Thursday on the second week of a month (Oct 8: energy industry, Nov 12: auto industry, Dec 10: pharmaceutical industry, Jan 14, 2021: cultural content industry).

It’s the city to try out the PR experiment for the first time to meet with potential investors in real time, while showcasing Korea’s business climate by each industry. The methods so far have been one way communication flows as it has become a common practice for many local governments to design and distribute a pitch deck solely for brief introduction of investment environment in Korea.
