Gwangju city has been welcoming a steady stream of new comers in the new year. The city signed an MOU with five promising AI technology developers- Data Streams, Doowon Meditec, ichrogene, Goodnet and Pine Consulting & Integration – on Jan 13 to facilitate an AI ecosystem inside the city. These counterparts pledged to incorporate separate business entities within the city jurisdiction or offices to be part of the city’s initiative to form an AI ecosystem.

Data Streams specializes in data platform services, whereas Doowon Meditec has developed machine learning based developed home healthcare solutions. Ichrogene studies big data analytics for genomic medicine. Goodnet is a telecom and network computing platform service and Pine Consulting & Integration provides data hub solutions.

The city mayor said “By attracting business leaders in AI technologies, the city will make an all-out effort to help them grow into global giants to compete with superpowers.”
