Gwangju City Free Economic Zone (GFEZ) Authority is to carry out Ontact investment attraction activities to resolve difficulties of foreign investment attraction caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

GFEZ Authority said on June 7 that it will participate in foreign investment attraction events in three areas including China's car industry, US's bio-healthcare industry, AI-Vehicle-Energy industries in connection with K-New Deal for two weeks.

It will hold one-on-one virtual business meetings with foreign companies in connection with overseas major exhibitions and events.

At '2021 Korea-China Future Electric Car Forum', held for two days starting on June 7 in Beijing, China, IR will be held for Chinese companies.

Major institutions involved in China's future vehicles and around 50 companies are to participate, and business meetings with five companies are planned.

GFEZ Authority also plans to promote Gwangju's investment environment in 'Bio International Convention' to be held on June 14-18 in Washington, D.C, US, pursuing business meetings with 8 companies from US, Canada and Japan.

In an event linked with K-New Deal, to be held online on June 16-18, 44 foreign companies and 70 Korean companies applied for business meetings to date.

An official said, "Although we started FEZ as a latecomer, we're actively working on investment attraction to catch up with," adding "With a mind as business people, we will flexibly respond to the COVID-19 pandemic."
