According to Yonhap News,

The amount of exports in Gwangju and Jeonnam increased about 50 percent year-on-year.

Gwangju Central Customes announced local export/import trend on July 15, which showed exports in June moved up 49.5 percent from a year earlier, recording USD 4.834 billion.

The amount of imports increased 102.6 percent to USD 3.749 billion, while trade balance recorded surplus of USD 1.085 billion.

Gwangju's export was mainly driven by transportation equipment (vehicles) and semiconductors, while Jeonnam was led by chemical products and petroleum products.

The cumulative import amount was USD 19.725 billion, up 35.2 percent. The scale of export and import alone indicate the impact of COVID-19 has effectively dissipated.

In case of Gwangju's exports by item, transportation equipment (16.9%), semiconductors(24.1%), home appliances(52.9%), machines (52.9%), and tires (35.1%) drove export growth.
