NHN announced on August that it will open NHN office to build national AI data center in cooperation with Gwangju Metropolitan Government, and AI Industry Convergence Project Group.

The opening of this NHN office will set a stepping stone for a vigorous project implementation after the establishment of national AI data center.

In collaboration with Gwangju Metropolitan Government and AI Industry Convergence Project Group, NHN will continue to implement various measures to contribute to local community. It plans to ▲ establish NHN R&D Center to create IT jobs and secure talent ▲ attract excellent AI companies and jointly operate enterprise support programs ▲ establish NHN Academy to foster human resources specialized in SW development and ▲ hold AI festivals for citizens.

Director Manager of NHN Cloud Business Department said "the opening of Gwangju NHN Office will help operation of AI data center, allowing the project to proceed in more efficient ways," adding "we will endeavor to concentrate NHN's capabilities and know-how in building AI data center while contributing to development of local community and IT manpower."

NHN plans to complete the establishment of cloud infrastructure within national AI data center, and support AI R&D of companies, research centers and universities utilizing the data center.
