The French ambassador to Korea and French businessmen visited Gwangju and discussed measures to improve exchange and cooperation.

Philippe Lefort, French Ambassador to Korea, David-Pierre Jalicon, Chairman of the Korean-French Chamber of Commerce, and businesspeople met with Gwangju's mayor at the Gwangju City Hall on November 24.

Gwangju's mayor said "If investment is committed in automobiles and hotels, Gwangju-si will actively provide support."

Ambassador Philippe Lefort said, "French companies will be able to work together in artificial intelligence, auto parts, hotel industry, and cultural fields," adding that "they are tapping the possibility of entry to Gwangju with specific interest in free economic zone incentives and policies."

Chairman David-Pierre Jalicon also mentioned business agreements between Gwangju-si, the Gwangju Free Economic Zone Authority, the French Embassy in Korea, and the Korean-French Chamber of Commerce.

Gwangju's mayor said, "It would be desirable to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) first and to make progress in investment and cooperation in possible fields."

The French group visited and checked up the situation of Gwangju Global Motors and the Eco-friendly Parts Certification Center located in the Future Auto Industry Zone within the Gwangju Free Economic Zone.
