The 'AICON (artificial intelligence conference) Gwangju 2021' conference, which reflects on the present and future of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, opened on December 16 at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju, scheduled for 3 days.

The opening ceremony was consisted of a performance realizing AI ecosystem through holographic performance, an opening speech, and keynote speech by Professor Vijay Janapa Reddi at the Edge Computing Lab of Harvard University

This conference, held for the first time, is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, National IT Industry Promotion Agency, and Gwangju City, and organized by the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Cluster Agency, under the theme of 'AI of the world, in this shining place'

In the exhibition hall, there will be an exhibition where 50 AI-related organizations and companies gathered; a job fair in which about 40 companies participated; IR sessions by 10 startups; business meetings with buyers; and an AI technology experience event will be held.

On December 17, there will be conferences and forums in which more than 30 domestic and foreign experts deliver lectures and have discussion.

It can be participated through a virtual space using metaverse, and Youtube live broadcast, as well as on the event venue.

Gwangju-si signed MOU with 11 companies in the fields of AI healthcare, platform, and content, promising to cooperate in the establishment of Gwangju corporations, local offices, and job creation.
