Transcosmos Korea will establish a 1,000-seat artificial intelligence (AI) customer center in Gwangju.

Gwangju City signed an investment agreement with Transcosmos Korea to establish an 'AI Contact Center' at City Hall on February 23.

The AI contact center is a place that consults and receives customer issues through various channels such as the Internet, artificial intelligence, big data, cloud, and mobile, and informs the processes results.

The company plans to complete the AI contact platform by 2025 by utilizing data from conversion of voices into texts through its own AI engines.

It plans to nurture technical consultation experts and AI development specialists, and hire 1,000 consultants and 20 researchers over four years.

Transcosmos is a global BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) group that provides services in 23 languages from 168 bases in 30 countries and 64,000 employees around the world.

Gwangju-si said that its Korean office achieved annual sales of KRW 360 billion as of December last year, with around 10,000 employees whose average age of 34 years.
