According to Yonhap News,

Gwangju-si joined hands with the World Institute of Kimchi (WiKim) to foster the kimchi industry.

On March 6, Gwangju-si said that it recently formed the Gwangju Kimchi Industry Promotion Task Force (TF) with the participation of experts from the (WiKim), academia and retail industry industry.

The TF is to establish a five-year comprehensive plan to foster the kimchi industry by June after regular and occasional meetings and checking infrastructure.

It set 4 key projects, which are strengthening industrial competitiveness, development and promotion of Gwangju's representative brands, expansion of domestic and foreign consumers, and creation of industrial complex.
