The sales of the printing industry in Gwangju last year increased significantly, reaching KRW 113.3 billion.

The Gwangju Institute of Design Promotion said on March 14 that it had conducted a survey on 19 companies participating in the 'Design-ICT Convergence Printing Industry Innovation Growth System Construction Project', which showed a significance increase in sales and employment.

Sales reached KRW 113.3 billion, 12% up from KRW 100.8 billion in 2020.

In the case of a company specialized in sticker and label printing, intensively fostered as a promising company, sales grew 60% from KRW 2.99 billion in 2020 to KRW 4.8 billion last year.

A company that succeeded in commercializing latent image printing technology showed a great sales growth thanks to an increase in the volume of printed materials such as local currency.

A company specialized in screen printing achieved sales of KRW 60 billion in 2021, 15% up from 2020. The sales growth of light printing companies recorded 35% from KRW 800 million in 2020 to KRW 1.1 billion, while that of companies specialized in printing products recorded 16% from KRW 510 million to KRW 710 million.

Along with the sales growth, the number of employees working in supported companies increased from 249 in 2020 to 273 last year, a 9.6% increase.
