The clean air industry cluster construction project, which will lead the Gwangju Green New Deal, will be pushed for in earnest.

Gwangju-si said on March 22 that the city completed the purchase of land in December last year and secured KRW 14.2 billion construction cost this year as the main budget of the Ministry of Environment.

After the basic and detailed design this year, the city plans to invest KRW 49.3 billion national budget by 2023 to create a cluster of 30,000 square meters in the BitGreen Industrial Complex.

The cluster will develop technologies to reduce fine particle-causing substances in industrial and transportation business sites, which are considered as the main sources of fine dust in Korea, and integrate support facilities.

In the all processes, from technology development to measurement device demonstration, it will support the localization of materials, parts and equipment, and the industrialization of technology and products.

Gwangju-si expects to create 2,807 jobs and generates KRW 309.8 billion of production inducement effects in the preparation and operation stages.
