On March 24, Gwangju-si announced that is will receive applications from companies which want to participate in "Start-up products demonstration support project" that demonstrates new technologies on test stages across the city.
Last year, Gwangju-si devised a 'Demonstration City Gwangju' to support startups who experienced difficulties in commercialization due to lack of empirical data even after developing technology products, supporting venues and expenses for 36 companies.
The city will continue to provide support in two types: autonomous type and solution type.
The autonomous type is for companies within 7 years (10 years in case of new industries) since establishment that possess products and services on the verge of commercialization, giving demonstration expense support up to KRW 150 million per project.
The solution type targets companies within 7 years (10 years in case of new industries) since establishment that possess heat wave reducing technology products and services on the verge of commercialization in Wolgok 1-dong, giving support up to KRW 100 million per project.
In addition to providing demonstration venues, the city will also support investment fund linkage for strong performers and industrial site tour in which sales outlets desired by startups are invited to the demonstration site for promotion.
