According to Yonhap News,

Gwangju-si is stepping up efforts to attract cultural content companies.

Gwangju-si signed an MOU with Grampus, a cooking tycoon (management simulation) gaming company, and Gwangju Information & Content Agency (GICON) at Gwangju Content Cube (GCC) on May 20.

Grampus, based in Seoul, has decided to establish its research center in Gwangju.

Grampus released 'Cooking Adventure', and 'My Little Chef' games, recording 33 million downloads in total, and plan to release 'BTS cooking on' game globally in collaboration with HYBE at the end of this month.

Gwangju-si operates an Investment Promotion District for Hub City of Asian Culture, one of a kind in Korea, supporting tax benefits and financing.

Employment subsidy and education and training subsidy, which were provided only for cultural companies investing more than KRW 500 million and employing 10 or more full-time workers before, began to be supported regardless of the investment amount since December last year.

With such efforts, Gwangju attracted 16 cultural contents companies in the past three years, including 3 in 2021, 8 in 2022, and 5 in 2023.

Since last month, the city formed a consultative body on attracting content companies, providing consultation on business transfer procedures and incentives focused on high-performing companies.

Starting from this July, the city plans to hold a briefing session to attract cultural content companies and offer a field trip program.
