Gwangju-si to receive applications for new national budget projects linked with future new growth engines

Gwangju-si is on the lookout for national-budget projects that combine local future growth engine.

According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Government on July 9, it will hold a public contest, with a goal of discovering new state budget projects, for innovative institutions, universities, hospitals, and non-profit corporations in the region by July 29.

The city will call for projects in 12 national strategic technology areas and 9 local major industries including semiconductors, data, mobility, artificial intelligence, and cultural contents.

Based on the projects selected through the contest, Gwangju-si will plan new projects for three months and explain the necessity and legitimacy to central ministries and lawmakers to ensure the selected projects are factored into government budgets.
