According to Yonhap News,

Gwangju-si, MBC, and LG AI Research agreed on developing media and content AI models and data cooperation.

On July 31, Gwangju-si, MBC, and LG AI Research signed an MOU on development of AI (artificial intelligence) and XR (eXtended Reality) in the media and contents at the MBC headquarters in Seoul, and decided to develop Generative AI models and solutions specializing in K-Content.

MBC will provide a vast amount of contents including video, audio, image, and metadata accumulated over 60 years.

Gwangju-si will provide the AI infrastructure, which is the largest in Asia, including high-performance computing resources.

LG AI Research will cooperate in R&D of contents and video generation based on its superior technology capability, considered the best in Korea, in the field of Multi Modal.

Starting with Encored P&P in 2019, Gwangju-si has secured 200 MOUs on the creation of AI industry ecosystem, with automobile, energy, healthcare, big data, and security companies.
