The 4th AICON Gwangju 2024, an international artificial intelligence (AI) academic conference, will be held at the Oryong Hall of the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) for three days, starting from October 30.
According to Gwangju-si on October 6, the AICON Gwangju is an academic conference in which AI scholars from around the world, business people, organizations, and citizens engaged in AI from home and abroad are gathered to discuss the latest technology trends and innovative cases of technology application.
It will be co-hosted by Gwangju City, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, and organized by the Artificial Intelligence Industry Cluster Agency.
On the first day of the conference, Timothy Papandreou, founder and CEO of Emerging Transport Advisors will give a keynote lecture on the theme of "The Future of AI," and Jeong Ji-hoon, a professor at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST), will give a keynote lecture on "AI Paradigm Shift".
It will be followed by a special lecture by Christophe Theys, Vice President of Germany's DHL, on "Innovation cases of AI."
On the second day, there will be discussion on the current status and future of the Large Language Model (LLM) market in Korea, China, and Japan under the theme of 'Hyperscale AI'.
The 'AI Semiconductor & On-Device' session will deal with the development prospects of AI semiconductor technology and on-device AI by global companies such as AMD and NVIDIA.
Major agenda on November 1, the last day of the conference, will be 'AI Business', 'AI Future Forum', and 'AI Ethics'.
As for citizens' participation, there will be such programs as AI discussion competition, AI book concerts, and first-hand experience of AI products and services at the AI cluster PR center.
