According to Yonhap News,
Gwangju Green Car Component Industrial Foundation that focuses on nurturing the automotive industry including eco-friendly vehicles held an opening ceremony on Jan. 12.
About 160 people, such as Gwangju City Mayor Gang Un-tae, Lawmaker Kim Jae-gyun, President of Mini-Cluster for Automotive Component Gang Man-su and Director of Kia Motors Gwangju factory Kim Hong-yeop, participated in the ceremony.
Along with the opening ceremony, the Green Car Component Exhibition was held to introduce about 30 green car-related components and electric vehicles to the public.
The Green Car Forum was a venue where automotive component researcher Lee Chun-beom made a presentation on the future of green car components, KAIST Prof. Bae Chung-sik on the current trend about clean diesel vehicle development and Hyundai Motors Director An Sang-jin on the development strategy of Hyundai's green cars.
Yu Yeong-myeon, president of the foundation, said, "Considering strong growth potentials for the green car industry, we feel huge responsibilities," adding that "We will make efforts to promote green car-related national projects and technologies and establish development infrastructures."
