Gwangju City and Small and Medium Business Administration (SMBA) opened the Business Center for Creative One-Person Company and Senior Biz Plaza on the tenth floor of Mudeung Building in Dong-gu, Gwangju.

A person or a team consisting of 3-4 members who want to start business in the IT or knowledge-based service sector, including cultural contents, publishing and design, can lease some space in the center for free.

Gwangju will be aggressively engaged in the cultivation of creative start-ups with the opening of the center in collaboration with Gwangju Smart Mobile App Development Support Center, the city's representative support center for one-person company.

The 1,000 square meter-business center has 11 rooms for team, 40 rooms for a person, consulting rooms and the biz cafe with the establishment of wire and wireless internet network. Consulting and education on management, accounting, tax and law will be offered to entrepreneurs.

Behind the establishment of the center lies Gwangju's ambitious goal to address issues of young adult unemployment, small business owners' failures, baby boomers' retirement and rapid business restructuring.

A total of 79 members at 34 teams are preparing for starting business and making their business items and contents commercially available.

Director of Gwangju Cultural Industry Jeong Yeo-bae emphasized the significance the opening of the center holds, saying that "The creative one-person company can create jobs and added values with a single innovative and creative idea."
