According to Yonhap News,

Gwangju embarks on establishing a women and familiy-friendly village center to improve the welfare system for women.

The center will operate various programs taking into consideration what women want.

Gwangju signed an agreement in February to become the first metropolitan city in Korea to create a women-friendly environment.

"We will put the project on the top priority of Gwangju's female-related policy," said a Gwangju official in charge of policy concerning women and teenagers.
