According to Yonhap News,
As of the third quarter, Gwangju and South Jeolla Province (Jeonnam) saw a year-on-year growth of 15.5 percent this year in agricultural exports from 283 million dollars to 327 million dollars.
Gwangju recorded 113 million dollars, up 9.7 percent from the previous year's 103 million dollars and Jeonnam posted 214 million dollars, up 18.8 percent from the previous year's 180 million dollars, according to the Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation.
By item, the export of agricultural, fishery and forest products rose 14.1 percent to 174 million dollars, 19.1 percent to 118 million dollars and 19.8 percent to 22 million dollars, respectively, while that of livestock products declined 20 percent to 5 million dollars.
As of the third quarter, Korea's total agricultural exports grew 4.2 percent to 5.64 billion dollars from 5.41 billion dollars a year earlier. Gwangju and Jeonnam accounted for 5.8 percent of the total.
