Gwangju, S. Jeolla’s CSI Stands at 100

According to the Gwangju and South Jeolla branch of the Bank of Korea yesterday, the consumer sentiment index (CSI) for 600 households in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province remained at 100 from last month.

The consumer sentiment index for Korea also stood at 105, following last month. The index for Gwangju and South Jeolla consumers stayed at 100 for five consecutive months.

When the consumer sentiment index is less than 100, it means that there is a higher number of people who see the economy negatively than those forecast positively. When the index is higher than 100, it is vice versa.

CSI for current living conditions in Gwangju and South Jeolla rose by 1 point to reach 91, whereas CSI for living condition forecast dropped by 1 point month-on-month to stand at 94.

CSI for household income forecast decrease by 1 point from last month to reach 94, however CSI for consumption increased by 2 point to reach 109.

Gwangju and South Jeolla Province’s CSI for current household savings was reduced by 1 point from last month to reach 86, and that for household saving forecast also dropped by two point to stand at 88 month-on-month.

CSI for current household debt and household debt forecast stood at 107 and 103, showing a 3 point and 1 point increase respectively.
