(GWANGJU = Newsis) Gwangju Seo-gu announced yesterday that it will carry out a simultaneous investigation to discover and protect vulnerable class who are not under protection by the current social welfare systems.

The investigation aims to discover the neglected social groups without receiving any social welfare benefits from the government and seek to develop active welfare systems.

The office of Seo-gu organized an investigation committee with vice governor of Seo-gu as mission headed on Monday.

The committee will investigate city’s warehouses, huts, containers, public toilets, long-term lodgers in motels with children, households without water, electricity and city gas supplies, single elderlies and mentally deficient persons.

The office’s plan will be supported by emergency aid systems and national basic living security act. For households with complicated problems will be designated as integrated case recipients for constant care and support.

Officials will also visit households that do not receive any public assistance to resolve difficulties and support in advance by designating them as private service recipients.
