(GWANGJU = Yonhap News) The organizing committee of Universiade Gwangju 2015 appointed 300 university students as the ambassadors of the international multi-sport event on January 16. The appointment ceremony was held at May 18 Memorial Culture Center.
Students from different universities across the nation received appointment letters from Kang Woon-Tae (Mayor of Gwangju, Chairman of the organizing committee) and pledged to promote the sporting event. After the ceremony, students visited May 18th National Cemetery.
They also visited Mudeung Mt. and the city’s new baseball stadium.
“I am proud to be one of the ambassadors for the sports festival of university students all around the world,” said one of the university students. “I will do my best to promote Universide Gwangju 2015 in my university.”
