Gwangju to hold Groundbreaking Ceremony for Its Inno-Biz Center

(SEOUL = Yonhap News) The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) announced on February 19 that it will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Gwangju Inno-Biz Center, which will play an important role to help R&D project commercialization and technical commercialization of companies in the Honam region.

The attendants of the ceremony include Lee Sang-mok, the 1st Vice Minister of the MSIP, Kang Woon-tae, Mayor of Gwangju and other 300 officials.

The center will be a 10-story building on its 14,000m2 site, and the construction is expected to be completed by the first half of 2015. The total cost of KRW 28.7 billion for the construction project will be covered by the government expenditure of KRW 20.1 billion and city’s budget of KRW 8.6 biliion.

The center will accommodate technology-transfer companies, technology holding companies, international joint research center, general support center and the headquarters of Innopolis Gwangju.

“The Gwangju Inno-Biz Center will lay a foundation for technology and R&D project commercialization and open a new era for creative economy,” said the MSIP.
