According to Yonhap News,

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) The Asian Culture Complex will open next year in Gwangju, North Jeolla Province. Two opening works for the complex now get attention from the world stage.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Office of Hub City of Asian Culture on May 19, Director Tsai Min-liang’s ‘The Monk from Tang Dynasty’ and Director Ho Tzu Nyen’s ‘Ten Thousand Tigers’ are now being performed at Vienna Festival 2014 in Austria. The two art works were jointly produced by the Asian Culture Complex, world’s famous festival organizations and theaters.

Tsai Min-liang’s ‘The Monk from Tang Dynasty’ will first be on screen in Taiwan’s Art Festival in August and then be introduced to Korean audience.

Famous Singaporean Ho Tzu Nyen’s ‘Ten Thousand Tigers’ was inspired by the ways in which tigers have constantly figured as an implied, almost apparitional presence in history of Singapore. The work was previously shown at Singapore’s Esplanade, a performing arts venue featuring local and international performances, in April and will meet audiences in Australia in July before introduction to Korea next year. The Asian Culture Complex has push forward joint productions with organizers of the world’s famous festivals and theaters since last year.
