Gwangju Implements 2014 Excellent Employment Enterprise Certification System

Gwangju will implement the 2014 Excellent Employment Enterprise Certification System, which discovers and certifies the company with excellent performance in creating jobs and supporting various incentives.
The Excellent Employment Enterprise Certification System was first conducted in 2010 by the City of Gwangju to expand job creation across the regional society by supporting the companies administratively and financially. The chosen companies wil be granted with certificates and benefit from 16 kinds of incentives for 2 years.
- 16 types of incentives including increasing management stabilization fund limit (from KRW 300 million to KRW 500 million), preferential treatment such as interest subsidy, exempting the real estate acquisition tax & suspending local tax investigation, expanding the guarantee fee discount of the credit guarantee foundation and of the trade insurance, preferential support of the export promotion funds, preferential support of youth internship for SMEs, supporting electronic trade frontier, supporting design commercialization, etc.
The excellent employment enterprise is for businesses in manufacturing, services, knowledge-based services and regional key strategic area that have been in Gwangju for 2 years or more. An excellent enterprise is selected by evaluating employment records, employment persistency rate, job growth and employment environment.
However, the following companies will be excluded: imposed fine or executed deliberate layoff, violated Labor Law, evoked social criticism by overdue wage, labor dispute and environment pollution, expanded the employment with temporary workers, etc.
- Eligibility: for a large enterprise (300 or more employees), the employment increase rate is 5% or higher; for a medium enterprise (more than 50 and less than 300 of employees), the employment increase rate is 5 % or higher and the increased employees are 3 or more; for small enterprise (less than 50 employees), the employees are increase by 3 or more.
"The Excellent Employment Enterprise Certification System is to provide substantial help to the enterprises contributed to job creation despite the poor economic conditions. We will develop the system to boost our regional economy," said a Gwangju City official.
