According to Yonhap News,
(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju City announced on September 7 that the “respect life & safe city” project will take off to protect life and property of residents from road accidents. The project will begin with developing 11 areas where accidents frequently occur.
The areas where accidents frequently occur refer to the area where traffic-related death had occurred more than five times. The development project will be conducted according to the traffic accident data provided by the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency and the Road Traffic Authority.
"The project will help to prevent traffic accidents by securing the safety of pedestrians and drivers. We ask everyone to keep traffic order to establish an advanced traffic culture," said a Gwangju official.
