MCST Holds 1st Korea-South Asia Culture Ministers Meeting in Gwangju

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) will hold the First Korea-South Asia Culture Ministers Meeting from October 17 for two days in Gwangju where countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will participate.

It is the third culture ministers meeting between Asian countries following the first one in Central Asia in 2012 and the second one in Southeast Asia in 2013. The First Korea-South Asia Culture Ministers Meeting will be held in September next year, during the opening of the Asian Culture Complex in Gwangju.

MCST suggests expanding exchanges between Korea and South Asian countries through the Asian Culture Complex and stresses the need for mutual cooperation.
