According to Yonhap News,

(SEJONG=Yonhap News) The Gwangju Foreign Labor Support Center opened on December 19 to help foreign workers to actively take part in the labor market and adjust to living in Korea.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor held an opening ceremony in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju.

Despite the fact that there are about 19,000 foreign workers in the Honam region due to the Employment Permit System (EPS), the region lacked a foreign labor support center for their stable stay in Korea.

"We will provide interpretation services and education programs for Korean language, computer training and laws for living," said Minister Lee Ki-Kweon of Employment and Labor at the opening ceremony.

The Ministry has established seven foreign labor support centers in Korea since 2004 for the stable stay of foreign workers in Korea.

The foreign labor support centers are located in Seoul, Uijeongbu, Gimhae, Changwon, Incheon, Daegu and Cheonan.
