(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) The Gwangju Summer Universiade Organizing Committee announced five keywords to successfully host the Universiade in July.

The five keywords include: frugal yet devoted Universiade; athletes-centered Universiade; economic Universiade to improve the brand image and regional infrastructure; people-friendly Universiade; and safe Universiade.

In this regard, the Committee strives to renovate the existing stadiums rather than building new ones and increase the brand image of Gwangju by providing excellent support to the athletes.

The Committee will also select ten keywords for the Universiade staff to understand their work and enhance their capabilities.

"With our goal to successfully host the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade, we will do our utmost to prepare and organize a frugal yet devoted Universiade where people can participate in," said Kim Yoon-suk, Secretary General of the Gwangju Summer Universiade Organizing Committee on January 11.

The 28th Gwangju Summer Universiade, which will be held from July 3 to 14 for 12 days in Gwangju, will have more than 20,000 athletes and participants from 170 countries around the world.
