According to Yonhap News,
(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju City announced February 5 that it has formed a committee for developing a hydrogen vehicle hub city. The city aims to not only dominate the research and development sector of hydrogen vehicles, but also become the hub of the automobile industry.
The committee, which will comprise 16 experts from universities, research institutions and the city, will hold the first meeting on February 6 to discuss the roles and goals of the committee.
The committee will develop policies for the hydrogen vehicle industry and build an industrial-academic system for the hydrogen energy industry.
Also, the committee will provide support for the recently-launched Gwangju Creative Economy Innovation Center.
The major tasks of the committee include preparing an action plan for the establishment of a hydrogen hub city and the success of the creative economy innovation center; discovering an industrial-academic technology task to develop the hydrogen energy industry; and seeking measures to provide technology support for regional hydrogen-related companies and nurture talents.
