Gwangju to Hold Relay Forums to Promote Exchange with SMEs

(GWANGJU=NEWSIS) The Gwangju Economy & Employment Promotion Agency and the Jangbogo CEO Forum announced March 2 that they will invite a public agency in the Bitgaram Innovation Center every first week of the month to promote the exchange with small- and medium-sized companies.

The Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and the relocated public institutions in the Innovation City are expected to bring future growth engines to Gwangju and South Jeolla Province. Gwangju City and South Jeolla Province are promoting the development of an energy valley and a cultural contents valley to bring synergy to the regional economy.

KEPCO will invest KRW 260 billion in promoting projects for the regional economy including establishing a KRW 200 billion worth of small- and medium-sized company fund to support the relocated companies and making mandatory to hire regional talents.

The Jangbogo CEO Forum is a learning and exchange meeting to promote the small giants. It holds monthly forums and workshops and organizes investor relations events to present about export and investment strategies.
