DAEGU < invest Korea

(DAEGU=NEWSIS) Daegu City announced January 25 that it will invest KRW 113.5 billion in reducing the regional traffic accidents by 30 percent by 2018. It has established 20 tasks for four sectors to build an accident-free safe city.

According to statistics of the Korean National Police Agency in 2014, 14,519 road accidents occurred in Daegu City, which resulted in 185 casualties and 2,814 injuries.

In this regard, the city has created a task force team last July with 14 relevant organizations and groups including the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency to proactively respond to reducing traffic accidents.

The 20 tasks include improving the traffic environment (7), upgrading the traffic culture (5), establishing the traffic order (5) and building a system for cooperation (3).
