(DAEGU=Yonhap News) An eco-friendly packing material plant jointly invested by Singaporean, Vietnamese and Korean companies will be established at the Yeongcheon Free Economic Zone.

The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority signed an investment MOU with ASPT, North Gyeongsang Province, and Yeongcheon city to build a manufacturing facility at the industrial complex for high-tech components and materials in Yeongcheon by investing USD 18 million through 2020.

The joint venture will produce environmentally-friendly wrappers for food and electronic devices.

With the newly signed MOU, the industrial complex has attracted foreign investment of USD 193 million from 8 foreign companies of 6 countries.
