According to Yonhap News,

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) The number of passengers using Daegu International Airport is expected to reach an all-time high this year to 2.5 million, Daegu City and the city's airport operator said on Aug 18.

A total of 1,344,733 traveled through the airport during January and July this year. The figure is a 19.5% increase or 219,613 more visitors compared to the same period in the previous year.

The number of passengers on international flights were 316,947 while that of domestic flights was tallied at 1,027,786.

Passenger numbers using international flights increased 71% year-on-year, recording the highest growth in the nation.

Expansion of international routes, introduction of low cost carriers, and increased number of flights helped boost number of passengers, according to the city.

The number of passengers arriving or departing from the airport is expected to rise further as T-way and Air Busan plan to launch new routes to Tokyo and Fukuoka and the number of flights to Guam and Taipei will be increased.
