(DAEGU=Yonhap News) The Daegu Metropolitan Government set out to attract medical tourists from Central Asia.
The provincial government announced that the city held five presentation meetings to local agencies and medical staffs in Astana, Almaty, and Karaganda, Kazakhstan in cooperation with the Daegu Medical Tourism Promotion Center.
Medical professionals from the Daegu Fatima Hospital performed free medical consultation and treatment to 300 female patients during the presentation sessions. 25 patients suspected of having severe diseases will visit Daegu for thorough examination.
The city already arranged transportation and accommodation for the patients and people accompanying with them.
Kazakhstan's Karaganda Women's Medical Clinic pledged to send patients with severe conditions to the Daegu Fatima Hospital, while the Deagu Hospital will provide support for medical devices and medical training, according to the city.
