(DAEGU=Yonhap News) The city of Daegu announced August 9 that it will be working with SK Telecom and KT Corp. to cultivate experts in the emerging field of IoT (Internet of Things).
Through the city's IoT Academy, which opened in June 2017, the two telecommunications companies will provide educational materials, expert lecturers, and opportunities to use their online platforms.
Daegu's IoT Academy will last until 2019, providing those who hope to start new companies in the field through specialized and general courses.
The city is currently accepting applications for 25 students for the specialized program. Participants in the three-month program will receive support for purchasing materials and equipment, and for making test products.
Applications can be submitted until August 27 through the IoT Academy website (iotacademy.or.kr), the Daegu city website (daegu.go.kr), or the Daegu Continuing Education online portal Tong (tong.daegu.go.kr).
