(DAEGU=Yonhap News) The Biseul Valley Industrial Development Committee was launched on September 15 for renewing and developing the southwestern side of Dalseong-gun, Daegu-si, where a national techno park is located.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST), and attended by some 50 persons, including National Assembly member Chu Gyeong-ho (Dalseong-gun, Daegu-si), the president of DGIST, and representative of tenant companies of the technopolis and national industrial complexes that are members of the committee.
The committee plans to devise a mid-term industrial development plan for the county.
Chu, who also serves as a committee adviser, noted, "it is important that the county prepares in advance to grow along with its changing industrial structure," adding, "the committee will act as a industrial development think tank that connects institutions in industry, academia and research with the government."
