(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Daegu Metropolitan City announced January 2 that it will be begin carrying out a compensation survey for the government-designated Yulha Advanced Urban Industrial Complex construction project.

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and Daegu Urban Development Corporation plans to inject a total of KRW 77.1 billion from September 2018 to 2020 to create the Yulha Advanced Urban Industrial Complex on 167,000 square meters of land in Yulha-dong, Dong-gu, near the Geumho River.

The city plans to divide the complex into two areas, one for industrial facilities involved in advanced manufacturing, knowledge, culture, and ICT service industries, the other for support facilities involved in exhibitions, logistics, administration and finance.

Also, KRW 89 billion from national and city funding will be injected to raise an innovation growth center by 2021, complete with business spaces, meeting rooms and multi-purpose areas.

Daegu mayor Kwon Young-jin noted, "the city plans to create the Yulha Advanced Urban Industrial Complex into an attractive place for companies and young workers."
