Daegu, Chinese State-owned Enterprise to Cooperate on Solar Power Project

According to Yonhap News, 


(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Daegu Metropolitan City signed an agreement with Shanghai Aerospace Automobile Electromechanical (HT-SAAE), a Chinese state-owned maker of solar panels, to cooperate on cultivating the solar power industry.

Based on the agreement, HT-SAAE will install a solar panels on unused land and rooftops owned by public institutions in Daegu, while the city will provide the necessary administrative support.

HT-SAAE will establish a special-purpose corporation (SPC), through which it will build a 10MW solar power plant on Daegu Metropolitan Transit Corporation property.

The company will also carry out joint R&D projects with local university research centers on sharing new technologies, provide internships for local college students, and install solar power stations for educational purposes on local campuses.

The city expects the cooperation with HT-SAAE will help expand solar panels and create new jobs.
