Daegu's Future Industries Advance into Vietnam

On April 15, Daegu City announced its recent MOU with Becamex Group (public company), a leader in city and industrial complex development in South Vietnam. Through the MOU, the parties will conduct mutual exchanges in various fields such as medical, environment, construction, transportation, smart cities and more.

Daegu also established a partnership for mutual development with Bắc Ninh Province in North Veitnam that has become a bustling economic center with the establishment of Samsung's regional office.

Daegu City recognized the Korean delegation led by the Minster of Economic Affairs Kim Yeon-chang for the successful MOU and partnership agreement.

Becamex Group specializes in new city and industrial complex development and currently holds KRW 7.3 trillion in assets. It is also Vietnam's representative public company leading the country's economic development.

Through the MOU, Becamex promised cooperation on doctoral training, medical tourism, hospital establishment and cooperation with Korean medical equipment and pharmaceutical companies entering Vietnam. The company will also work with Daegu when developing new cities and industrial complexes, including sewage treatment facilities and energy recycling facilities, railways and building smart cities.

Kim stated, "The entry of Daegu's future industries such as medical, environment and energy into Vietnam will further expand mutually-beneficial economic exchanges."
