Daegu International Future Auto Expo 2018 to Start on November 1

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Daegu International Future Auto Expo 2018 will be held from November 1 for four days at Daegu EXCO to identify development direction for Daegu's auto parts industry and ways to enter the global market.

The Expo is hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and Korea Academy for Automotive Engineering, organized by Daegu Exhibition and Convention Center and Korea Intelligent Automotive Parts Promotion Institute, and is expected to be attended by 248 companies from 22 countries.

Marking its second year, the Expo will offer various side events such as future vehicle exhibition and a forum.

During the opening session, representatives of global automotive companies, domestic and overseas future vehicle experts, and diplomatic delegations including the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Korea.

Young-deuk Lim, CEO of Hyundai Mobis and Vincent Wijnen, Senior Vice President of Nissan Asia & Oceania will deliver keynote speeches under the theme of global trend and future strategy of the future vehicle.

This year, Nissan (Japan), Mercedez-Benz, Jaguar and Land Rover (Europe) will participate in the exhibition.

Experts from Korea and overseas will give lectures during the forum for two days, with 26 themes.

In addition, visitors can test drive future cars such as autonomous vehicles and hydrogen cars, Green Mobility will prepare electric twowheeled vehicles as a gift for the visitors.

"Future vehicle is already a reality that will open the door to the future when we take the challenge," said Kwon Yeong-jin, Mayor of Daegu. "As the Future Auto Expo is a milestone for the success of regional auto industry, we ask for interest and support from regional companies and citizens."
