According to Yonhap News,

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Daegu City and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Gyeongbuk Support Team held the "2019 Seminar on Global Market Advancement Strategies" at Hotel Inter-Burgo Exco on January 10.

According to Daegu City, 200 people from Daegu and Gyeongbuk export companies and related organizations attended the event to hear lectures from the head of KOTRA's Latin America office (Mexico City) and the head of its North America office (New York), and to discuss with experts on China, Japan and Aisa on export companies' breakthrough in global market.

The "Daegu Export Support Service Desk" and the "Mobile KOTRA Consulting Booth" were present at the event venue to answer export related questions by SMEs.

The City explained, "Amidst global protectionism and slowing global economic growth, the seminar was prepared at the right time when it was necessary to check the local companies' overseas export sites and to implement customized strategies for each industry."

KOTRA said, "The local information on five export markets including the US, China, Japan, the Middle East and Southeast Asia would help Korea's export companies establish overseas business strategies such as diversifying overseas markets and export items."

The City added, "We would strengthen the monitoring of changes in trade environment to promote regional exports in the future, and would support the advancement to emerging markets such as the New Southern markets (ASEAN and India) and the New Northern markets (Russia and Eurasia) as a way of diversifying export markets."
