(DAEGU=Yonhap News)
Daegu city has been putting efforts in realizing data-based administration incorporating big data in administrative affairs.
It holds a briefing on the establishment of big data platform at city hall on May 29.
Daegu city was selected in a big data hub program run by the Ministry of Interior and Safety, with the total KRW 1 billion investment including national budget of KRW 500 million.
The big data platform is to systematically collect and store dispersed data, setting up data set and data map which allow search and utilization of collected data.
775 public data items owned by Daegu city and 8 counties will be made accessible, while providing 14,000 statistical data as well.
Once the big data platform is established, an environment will be built in which everyone-students, startups, etc.- access public data in addition to realizing data-based administration.
Daegu city government said, "We will keep discovering high-quality, high-value public data to make it available for our citizens."
